Some process shots from a recent project designing and painting marquis signage for a café, on drumskins. I’ll post more pics (including complete logo design) once they are installed. These ones show the process of prepping the skins to make them look old, and some of the hand lettering. The skins (one is 28″ the other is 16″) will be mounted on drums with lights inside. Can’t wait to see how they look!

Always fun to do a little hand lettering and logo design. Jollity farm—a small west coast operation based on Thetis Island—needed a fresh logo for their business that would also work as a stamp for their CSA baskets and other products. Can’t wait to see how it looks when they start using it this season!

When left to my own devices I’m typically working on 5+ things at once and I’m lucky if one of them is what I had actually planned on accomplishing that day. So this New Year’s resolution is a big one for me: giving myself permission to do one thing at a time. If you’re like me it ain’t easy, but I’m already finding that saying “NO!” to random distractions and half baked ideas feels pretty good.

It’s always fun when I get to stamp up a new batch of business cards. I’ve gotten a lot of mileage out of one stamp, some ink and a box of little envelopes over the past couple years. It’s kind of surprising I’m not sick of them… maybe that’s a good sign. These are for Pecha Kucha Night Victoria, where I’ll be presenting my work tonight!

It’s tradition in the Netherlands to send a card to friends and family announcing when a baby is born. I was commissioned to do this one for my cousin Marten and is wife Puck, to announce the arrival of their daughter Elpi.
It was a fun little project, especially receiving my card in the mail all the way from Rotterdam. Felicitaties!
